Want to teach Nurse Aide Training or QMA classes?

Register for a Train the Trainer Course and receive your NAT and/or QMA Training Certification.

Learn about the differences

  • LPN Requirements to Become an Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor:

    Must hold an LPN License in good standing

    Have a minimum of one year of licensed nursing experience

    RN Requirements to Become a Nurse Aide Training Program Director:

    Must hold an RN License in good standing

    Have a minimum of two years experience in licensed nursing, of which at least one year must be in the provision of long term care services

    Complete a Train the Trainer course that includes guidelines for Adult Education

  • Requirements to Become a QMA Instructor:

    Must hold an RN License in good standing

    Have a minimum of two years experience in licensed nursing, of which at least one year must be in the provision of long term care services

Train the Trainer Course Content

If you are completing the NAT Train the Trainer:

  • Introduction to the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) Administrative Standards for training programs

  • Guidelines for Adult Education

  • Introduction to IDOH Aide Training Competency Evaluation curriculum, procedures and forms

  • Introduction to Indiana Competency Evaluation (State Testing) procedure

If you are completing the QMA Train the Trainer:

  • All of the content listed above

  • Introduction to IDOH Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Training Program curriculum, procedures and forms
